Management of Secondary education

Secondary education aims to lay the foundation for students to have good life skills in terms of physical, emotional, mental, social, good citizenship, morality, and academic ability. They are encouraged to develop leadership skills in thinking, working, and problem solving. Secondary students should be able to work and live with others with empathy. Most importantly, secondary education also focuses on preparing with the skills they will need to continue their studies at the university level, either in Thailand or abroad. Students can set their goals on pursuing a career as well as being able to live a successful life. They should be active citizens who can create a society of the country and the world in the era of future change.

In addition to students studying the core curriculum of the Ministry of Education, students will also receive an education of international standards. The courses of Cambridge (Cambridge Assessment International Education), at the lower secondary level include courses in English, Mathematics and Science. For students in Upper secondary we offer a range of Cambridge IGCSE (International General Curriculum for Secondary Education) subject which are studied over the course of two years.

Grades will be awarded after the end of Year 3 for Checkpoint in Mathematics, Science and English. High school students take the IGCSE exams, mostly at the level of Year 5, and are scheduled at concurrent intervals around the world.

To prepare our students for university studies and their future careers the school provides three learning paths for upper secondary students to choose from: Science-Mathematics, Business Studies or Chinese Language and Culture. Extra-curricular opportunities provide students with opportunities to explore their wider interests in various clubs such as the Short Film & Movie club, the cooking club Science club, Performance club, Digital music and Audio Engineer club, Innovation Design club, Basketball club, Art club, E-sport club, all of which are currently available.

Day to day teaching uses a variety of methods according to the potential and learning characteristics of the learners and using technology and online resources with a platform that is suitable for lessons and suitable for students. There are well-appointed laboratories available to facilitate quality learning by learning through practical experience.

The student support system means a Tutor teacher, who is one of the class teachers, is on hand to provide close supervision, give advice and support both academically in terms of behavior, livelihood, problems, including further education or career in the future. There is a tutor teacher teacher-student ratio of 1:6 to 7. Students work under the guidance teachers of the secondary level of the school who have a duty to advise students and help them to plan and organize activities to develop their interpersonal skills. Tutor teachers also offer guidance on further education opportunities and careers advice and KKVS has a rich network, both domestically and internationally, of contacts and we have formal agreements with several institutions at home and abroad.
